Ruth D. Heck, 91, of Perryville, died Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at DeSoto, MO. She was born July 3, 1928 in Perry County, MO to Joseph B. and Irene (Hoff) Yeager. She and John A. Heck Jr. were married August 30, 1947. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1985. Ruth was retired as City Collector of Perryville. She had formerly worked at International Shoe Company and Prince Gardener. Ruth and her husband John were proprietors of the Plaza Lounge in Perryville, MO. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. She was baptized October 28, 1928 and confirmed on April 10, 1941. She was a former Ladies Fireman Auxiliary volunteer, Perry County Memorial Hospital volunteer, LWML, Board member of Perryville Senior Center, and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, visiting the veterans home and being with her family and friends. Survivors include her three sons, Dennis Heck of Festus, MO, Darrell (Cheryl) Heck of Jackson, Kerry Heck of Perryville; three grandchildren, Amie Stenton, Kyle and Joey Heck and four great-grandchildren, Mickah, Zoey, Piper and Jaxon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Denise Heck; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rowena and Clem King and Ida Mae Yeager and one brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Aleen) Yeager. Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 9 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon with social distance guidelines in effect. Rev. Joseph Schlie officiating.
