Rose Mary Buchheit, 95, of Perryville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Independence Square Residential Care Center. She was born in Perry County, MO on November 16, 1924 to James Frederich and Anna Frances (Zahner) Endres. On November 16, 1946, she married Joseph Buchheit. They spent 47 happy years together before his passing on September 21, 1993. Her joy in life was being with family and friends, and with those friends and husband, she traveled to many states, played many games of cards, and attended Saurday night dances. She relayed stories of her early life growing up on a farm with her family during the depression in an interview by her daughter. These stories are archived, along with countless others, at the Library of Congress, Washington DC, storycorps.org. She is remembered with love by her daughter Sharon and husband Gerald of Sedgewickville, grandchildren Joshua Dippold of St. Louis and Aaron and wife Jessalyn Dippold of St. Charles and great-grandchildren Henry and Jane Dippold. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews on the Endres and Buchheit sides. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, brother James, his wife Laverne Endres; brother Harold, his wife Lucille Endres; sister Viola, her husband Hubert Sutterer; and brother Paul Endres. A sincere thank you to Dr. Schabbing for his patience and perseverance with Rose's health challenges. And a special thank you to the staff at Independence Square who provided care with compassion and dedication these past fifteen years. Rose was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, former member of American Legion Post 133 Auxiliary and V.F.W. Post 4282 Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be sent to American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Due to current health concerns there will be a private visitation and Funeral Service on Saturday, May 30 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Deacon Joe Brindley officiating.
