    Richard H. "Rick" Presnell

    August 31, 1950 - February 25, 2022

    Richard H. "Rick" Presnell, 71, of Perryville, Missouri died Friday, February 25, 2022 at his residence. He was born August 31, 1950 in St. Louis, MO, to Jessie Darrell and Rose Marie (Bollinger) Presnell. Rick and Christy R. Welker were married at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville on January 29, 1972 and were blessed with 50 years of marriage. Rick was a 1968 graduate of Patton High School, he was a VietnamVeteran in the US Air Force. he graduated as an Emergency Medical Technician from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. Rick was a member of the Methodist Faith, VFW Post 4282, AmVets Post 94 and Gold Prospectors Association of America. He was a certified Master Mason of the Saline Lodge #226 AF & AM in St. Mary, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and a hunter education instructor with the Missouri Department of Conservation. He served as a deputy for Cape Girardeau County and Perry County Sheriff's Departments. Rick retired in 2000 after 31 years with General Motors as a paint inspector. He proudly served as Union President of United Auto Workers Local 2250 from 1996-1999. Survivors include two daughters, Teasha Pohlman (Joshua) of Perryville, MO, and Jessica (Cory) Stueve of Cumming, GA; two sons, Patrick (Ashly) Presnell of Perryville, MO, Mitchell Presnell (Deanna) of Roy, UT; sister, Paula (Jan) Parker of Jackson, MO; nine grandchildren, Stuart Pohlman, Andrew (Kimberly) Pohlman, Nicholas Pohlman, Jacob Stueve (Janna), Carter Stueve, Drelynn Presnell, Kabren Presnell, Joel Presnell, Eve Presnell; two great grandchildren, Ellie Pohlman, and Olivia Pohlman. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Randy Presnell; Father & Mother In Law, Joseph "Bud" & Dolly Mae Welker. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022 and from 8:00 am - 10:00 am on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville. Masonic Wake ceremony Thursday 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 am at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Ronald Davis officiating. Entombment will be at Mary Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 4282 & US Air Force Team. Memorial contributions may be given to Missouri National Veterans Memorial. Online condolences may be made at www.fordandyoungfuneralhome.com. Ford & Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
