Jerry P. Burroughs

Jerry P. "Abby" Burroughs, 76, of Frohna, died Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born January 4, 1944 in Frohna to Albert and Elda (Perr) Burroughs. He and Shirley A. Ponder were married May 23, 1976. She survives in Frohna, MO. He had been a truck driver for East Perry Lumber Co. He was a member of the Lutheran Faith. He was a member of American Legion Post 133 Booster and Frohna Recreation Club. Other survivors include three sons, Scott Ponder of Perryville, Jody (Sheri) Ponder of Frohna and Tim; two daughters, Connie and Penny; two brothers, Gerold Burroughs of St. Mary, Illmer Burroughs of Frohna; and five grandchildren, Alexandrea, Adilynn, Anistyn, Devin and Reagan. He was preceded by his parents; two brothers, Edgar and Kenny Burroughs; and one sister Erna Kemetty. Private service will be held for family only. Memorial contributions may be given to family use.
