Rose Lee Preston

Rose Lee Preston, 84, of Perryville. Thursday evening July 6, 2017 heaven gained a special angel. A woman many were blessed to know. She was born August 23, 1932 in Perryville, MO, daughter of Roy A. and Irene B. (Lee) Boxdorfer. She and Wilbert “Wib” Preston were married on January 28, 1950. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2014. She was a homemaker and made a house a home full of love! She loved to sew and would repair anything you brought to her. She had an extensive cookbook collection, loved to make family recipes, try new recipes and was always sending something home for you to try. She loved books and would read all night to finish a “good one”. She didn’t know a stranger when she moved back to her hometown of Perryville and always had a smile on her face for everyone. She did so much for her family, was very giving, put others first and would not let you return the favor. She loved to brag about all her grandchildren and great grandchildren up to her last days and was proud of each one. Rest in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ, your fight is over and you are pain free. We know you are happy to be reunited with your baby and family. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include three sons, Farrell (Rena) Preston of Ballwin, Guy (Debbie) Preston of Perryville and Ted (Joan) Preston of Warrenton, one sister, Sharon (Tom) Hotop of Perryville, seven grandchildren, Lesley Preston, Jordan (Rose) Preston, Jennifer (Nic) Janet, Cora (Michael) Gremaud, Brittany (Mitchel) Lukefahr, Ted Preston and Stacey Preston, seven great grandsons, Henry, Leo and Barrett Preston, Samuel and Alex Janet, Preston and Harrison Gremaud. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one stillborn son and one sister, Barbara Williams. Memorial Service will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, July 23 at 2:00 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 am until the time of Service at 2:00 pm. Burial in Home Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Riverside Regional Library in Perryville MO, Perry County Health System Children’s Healthcare Fund or Children’s Hospital in St. Louis MO Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
