Roger E. Brown

Roger E. Brown, 80, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center. He was born May 11, 1945 in Brewer, MO to Emil Frank and Velda Mary Catherine (Moore) Brown. Roger and Carol Ann Cattoor were married March 13, 1965 at St. Mary's of the Barrens Catholic Church in Perryville, MO. She survives him in Perryville. He was a 1964 graduate from Perryville High School. He then served in the United States Navy for 3 years. Roger worked as a carpenter for 21 years and then retired as an Aircraft Mechanic from Sabreliner Corporation after 17 years. He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #133 for over 50 years. He loved restoring old tractors, especially his fathers 1956 Ferguson F40, which he completely rebuilt. He was very meticulous in everything he did. Roger also enjoyed gardening, pickling, and canning. He never threw away an empty jar of pickle juice without first filling it with hard boiled eggs or something from the garden. Roger loved spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing and fixing or re-purposing anything that he could find a new use for. He was a jack of all trades and loved by many. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tina Marie (Tim) Thieret, Jennifer Ann (Tim) Renner; brother, Gary Lee Brown; sister, Donna Mae (Norman) Kirn; brother-in-law, Wayne Zoellner; five grandchildren, Andrew Thieret, Ashley (Grant) Pingel, Alex (Kaylie) Thieret, Cole (Fiancée' Tori Re') Renner, Shelby (Special Friend Trey Schreckenberg) Renner; six great-grandchildren, Lucy, Lily, Lyla and Lincoln Pingel and Kannen & Conner Thieret. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Vernon & Rosalee Oberndorfer; two sister-in-laws, Sheila Brown, Judy Zoellner; three nephews, Bryan Zoellner, Justin Brown and Randy Kirn. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8:00 am to 9:20 am on Saturday, November, 15, 2025 at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 8:45 am. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, MO with Rev. Fred Wandera C.M. officiating. Burial will be at Christ the Savior Catholic Cemetery in Brewer In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Christ the Savior Church or St. Vincent Ladies of Charity Food Pantry.
