Albert Joseph Buchheit

Albert Joseph Buchheit , 75, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO. He was born December 28, 1949 in Perryville, MO to Alphonse and Theodora "Dora" (Unterreiner) Buchheit. Albert and Patricia Ann Knott were married August 8, 1970 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, MO. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2022. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Albert retired after working many years at Mississippi Lime Company in Ste. Genevieve, MO. He was also the founder and owner/operator of Buchheit Archery in Perryville. Albert was a member of Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church, Niceville, FL and a former member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. He was also a member of American Legion Post #133, VFW Post #4282, Am Vets Post #94, Perry County Sportsman Club. Albert enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially trout fishing at Montauk State Park with his wife Patricia. Most of all he loved attending his grandchildren's music and sporting events. Survivors include daughter, Pamela Kay (Chris) Steele of Niceville, FL; three grandchildren, Lawrence "Lonnie" Joseph Chronister, II, Brianna Alexis Steele, Tyler Christopher Steele; two sisters, Helen (Richard) Rolfing of St. Peters, MO, Ann Bodenstein of Gordonville, MO; brother, Clyde Buchheit of Perryville, MO; fiancée, Janet Murray of Perryville. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Melisa Ann Gibson; sister, Dorothy Alkemeyer; sister-in-law, Geraldine Buchheit; two brothers-in-law, Bill Alkemeyer, Art Bodenstein. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8:00 am to 9:30 am on Monday, July 7, 2025 at the funeral home. The Rosary will be at 8:30 am. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday, July 7, 2025 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with Rev. Jay Jung C.M. officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville. Graveside Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #133 and Delta Team.
